Wooden ships comments on this Ian Oughtred Acorn rowing skiff

The Acorn rowing skiff is one of many small boat designs from Ian Oughtred. Many of his designs are oriented towards the amateur builder and over the years we have known many very gifted amateurs.Ian Oughtred Acorn rowing skiff

The Acorn is a very pretty, classic little rowing skiff and was built by Barrie Brierley in Devon, completed in 2014. She has only been in the water twice!

The advantage many amateur built boats like this one have is that the costs of time and materials are not counted resulting in a very good boat in the best available materials regardless of the costs a yard would be subject to.

Length over all            11’10”

Weight                                    Easily lifted onto a car roof-rack by 2 people.
