Wooden Ships Comments on this 10′ rowing dinghy
The history of this very pretty dinghy is not well known. Believed to have been built in Salcombe by Edgar Cove she has a build number of 1518. Exceptionally pretty and smart pulling dinghy which has just had a refit where she was stripped to bare wood and coated with at least 5 coats of Epifanes varnish and antifoul below the waterline. Some hood end fastenings in the transom have also been replaced.
She is now in excellent condition and ready to be used. She does not come with a trailer but could be delivered by the owner.

Construction
Clinker planked in Mahogany. Copper rivet fastened to steam bent oak timbers which stretch from gunnel to gunnel across the centreline. Vanished mahogany transom. Bronze keel band.
Varnished topsides, recently painted below the waterline with 4 coats of Primer and 2 coats of antifoul.
Mahogany sheerstrake and rubbing strake. Mahogany stringer supporting the thwarts.
Varnished mahogany thwarts with sawn support knees. 2 rowing thwarts plus a thwart in the aft end with a back support. Sculling knotch in the transom.
Solid sole boards with non-slip tape and stretchers to support the rowers feet.
