18' motor launch built in Teignmouth in the early 1960's as a self drive hire boat, she also served time as an inshore fishing boat and a shipyard work boat before being bought and rebuilt by a local shipwright in 2003. Very elegant varnished mahogany motor launch believed to have been built in 1910 on the Clyde. Originally fitted with a steam engine, she could be reverted to this if desired. Salcombe Net Boat built by Mike Atfield, renowned Salcombe based boat builder, in 2003. She is a replica of a 1937 local working boat called Spitfire, used for inshore net fishing in the estuary. Professionally maintained and winter ashore undercover every year. This is a heavily built and very safe, sturdy and solid boat. She is akin to a motor launch but with a smooth modern petrol outboard engine for simplicity. Very attractive and practical family boat.
