Wooden Ships Comments
Built in Ramsay, Isle of Man in 1911 as a yacht for the local vicars daughter as her wedding present.
She has been undergoing a thorough rebuild with the present owner for the last 30 years, unfortunately age and time mean she now must be sold. Plenty of good work has been done but she needs an enthusiastic new owner to finish her off.
She is being sold for a token sum to the right buyer. Time is of the essence and a new owner must be found very soon.
Construction
Traditional built with some original pitch pine planking and lots of new planking, all bronze screw fastened to sawn oak frames. All fastenings new.
The stem, stern post and grown wooden floors have been replaced along with the keel bolts.
Full length external iron ballast keel with internal lead trimming ballast.
Deck new with a replacement varnished coachroof coamings.
Rig
Gaff cutter rig, largely complete but unfortunately the mast suffered rot damage and needs replacing. Bowsprit, boom, gaff yard are all with the boat. Also has standing rigging and running rigging with all new wooden blocks.
Machinery
No engine but the stern tube, shaft and prop are all in place
Accommodation
New interior fitted in pitch pine.
