Wooden Ships Comments on this Honey Bee 28
Honey Bee 28 for Sale, designed by A.K. Balfour for a competition run by the Glasgow Evening Herald to come up with a cruiser/racer for the Scottish West Coast. The Honey Bee came second in the competition but proved popular with about 60 being built between 1958 and 1972. It is said the design was inspired by Kim Holmans Twister.
This Honey Bee 28 was bought by the current owner in 2010 who spent two years restoring her ready for the 2012 season, refit included new rigging, sails, engine, systems, upholstery and more.
