32′ Robert Clark sloop

Wooden Ships Comments

Designed by Robert Clark and built in 1966 to Lloyds 100A1.  Designed as a comfortable yet capable offshore boat, Clark has made maximum use of the dimensions by incorporating raised topsides to increase internal volume.  Unlike some raised topside yachts, this design is very elegant and it works extremely well.

She finished 6th in the 1968 Transat race and went on to be a successful charter and training yacht based in the Solent, taking many people out sailing and introducing them to a new world.  Her balanced rig, impeccable manners and kindly motion made her an ideal teaching boat.

She has been in the present ownership for many years and has benefitted from unwavering attention when required, however the time has come when she is too much boat and she must be passed on

A major refit was carried out in 2009 when the ballast keel was removed and all keel bolts replaced, engine lifted out and reconditioned along with the engine beds and stern gear.  The rudder bearings were all replaced and all seacocks were either serviced or replaced.
