Laurent Giles Columbia Class sloop designed by Laurent Giles as an affordable, capable and easily handled cruising boat. She is a mini blue water cruising yacht and far more capable then her dimensions suggest.
Built in 2011 to an 1897 design by Charles Sibbick. A forward thinking yacht in her day she has a fin and bulb keel with a separate rudder, similar to modern racing yachts. Built to the old design but using modern methods, she has a strip plank cedar hull all epoxy sheathed. Lug rig on a pole mast. An immaculate little package, complete with a road trailer, ideal for regatta racing and afternoon sails around the bay.
A very pretty traditional boat which was built as a smaller version of a Breton sailing fishing boat, She was the last boat built by Ed Matthews at Ferris & Blank yard in Dartmouth. Mahogany on oak and rock elm, copper fastened.
A capable sea boat which the present owners have sailed up and down the south west coast but they now require a larger boat.
