Wooden Ships Comments on this Nelson 40 Twin Screw Motor yacht
Nelson 40 with a GRP hull and a wooden superstructure.
Hull built by Halmatic Ltd in 1975 with the deck and interior fitted by Latham and Sons to a very high standard.
A spacious yacht, she has a large amount of interior volume with a very nicely finished wheelhouse with great all round visibility, a lower and more private saloon which is still light and spacious, plus a raised aft deck with seating and table for those warmer days. The large full width owners cabin has a separate heads and a dressing table.
Used by a previous owner as his regular transport from England to the Channel Islands, she is a comfortable and fast passage maker which will cruise at a respectable 16 knots and with the modern design of semi displacement hull she will not roll like motor yachts of a more dated design.
The bright work has recently had a spruce up with several coats of the respected Tonkinois, a durable and easily applied French product.
A well equipped, smart and well presented motor yacht which would make an excellent home afloat or a very comfortable summer cruising yacht.
